About Us – The Nantwich and Border Counties Yacht Club is a canal boat cruising club, located in an idyllic rural setting on the Shropshire Union Canal, 1 mile from Nantwich town centre in the county of Cheshire.<\/p>\r\n

The club was founded in 1953 and has grown to its current size with almost 150 members and moorings for some 70 boats up to\u00a0 maximum length of 40ft – steel, fibreglass and wood.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

It accommodates approximately 40 boats including a few, short, steel boats. See photo above. Water points and 6 amp electrics, maximum, are provided on the moorings as part of club membership. Please use the electricity supply sensibly and never when you are not on your boat!<\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n Main line moorings are located opposite the tow path on the Shropshire Union Canal. They can accommodate boats up to 40 feet in length with space for up to 30 boats. Water points and 6 amp electrics are provided on the moorings as part of club membership.<\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n The club has a social room \/ committee meeting room, a club kitchen, two workshops with electricity and workbenches and a sanitary block, with water taps and electricity points at several places along the moorings for the use of members. For those owners of fibreglass and wooden boats who wish to take their boats out of the water during the winter months, there is a craning out service in October and a craning in service just before Easter (alternate years).<\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n<\/a><\/p>\r\n The club has an active\u00a0social calendar<\/a> with twelve to thirteen events throughout the year, including cruises, barbecues, a New Year lunch and other social events. There are working party volunteers to carry out routine maintenance of the moorings and buildings.
